Our Partners

We would like to thank Gumball.com for their generous commitment to donate gumballs for next year's Challenge and we'd also like to thank Recycle to Eradicate Poverty and College Kiva for their commitment to helping expand the impact and efforts of next year's Challenge.

As a branch of the organization Kiva.org, College Kiva is a national network of college chapters which seeks to engage students in microlending. College Kiva works to establish permanent microfinance clubs on campuses across the country and provides them with the resources they need to participate in group lending through Kiva.org.

Recycle to Eradicate Poverty (RTEP) is a program of The Chiapas Project that celebrates the last two Nobel Peace Prize winning initiatives: microfinance (2006) and the environment (2007). RTEP recycles used cell phones to fund microfinance loans to the poor. Until December 2008, the organization will be working nation-wide to beat the One Million Cell Phone Challenge. One million cell phones recycled will save 350 trillion gallons of water (from polluting our communitiesŐ water supply) and lift 100 thousand lives out of poverty through microfinance. To participate, request any quantity of pre-paid baggies via onemillioncellphones.com for distribution. After receiving baggies, simply put your cell phones inside (up to 5 per bag) and place it in the mailbox.

Gumball.com started selling their first gumball in 1993 and has expanded their product line to over 300 products today. Gumball.com offers gumballs in a variety of shapes and sizes with flavors ranging from Strawberry Shortcake to Sour Cotton Candy in addition to a wide selection of gumball machines, candy machines, bulk candy, and bouncy balls. The small company aims for high customer satisfaction and aims to build quality relationships with customers. They hope to reach out through entrepreneurial efforts to the community through excellent causes like Gumball Capital.
